In the last two weeks, the number of affected African countries increased from 9 to 41. As people continue to travel, it is only a matter of time before COVID-19 spreads to the rest of the 54 countries on the continent. In preparing a response, its critical to look for the innovations and solutions that can help carry societies through this storm, and lead us again in a post COVID-19 world.
More importantly, we need to come together as a community and industry in support of these entrepreneurs and do our part to make sure the necessary resources and support are available. Funding is in critical need. We call on the government, the donor community, funding partners and corporate sector to maintain their commitment to this space as we push forward, even more emboldened by the mission at hand.
