Africa Startups Challenge
The Africa Startups Challenge seeks to find the best new companies innovating in agri-tech, big data analytics, the blockchain, digital government, education, Internet of things, fintech, media-tech, mobile technology and supply chain. Sponsored by Thomson Reuters, the challenge aims to upscale business driven solutions disrupting the government, financial, and academic sectors. Applications close May 30th, 2016.
Accelerator: Startup Reactor
Startup Reactor is a 5-month program aimed at supporting and accelerating startups in Egypt with a high potential for accelerated growth. 25 startups will qualify for the First Bootcamp Stage and will receive mentorship and training. The top 3 startups will receive 10,000 Euros worth of cash prizes and investment opportunities from Innoventures and VC4Africa. Applications close July 10th, 2016.
Global Challenge: Seedstars World
Your chance to be crowned number one in the world and secure up to 1 million in equity capital. Join one of the many Seedstar events to showcase your company. The best startups are invited to Switzerland to participate in the Seedstars Summit. It’s a week long adventure consisting of a bootcamp, international conference and investor forum. It’s an amazing chance to meet with investors, build a global network and grow your business. Applications close December 31st, 2016.
Accelerator: She Leads Africa
The SLA Accelerator is a 3-month program designed to identify, support and fund the next generation of Nigeria’s brightest female entrepreneurs. The winner of a Demo Day will receive a N 2 million in investment from the She Leads Africa Fund. Applications close May 31, 2016.
Bootcamp: Design and Manufacture of BoP Products
An online bootcamp organized by the Inclusive Business Accelerator together with MIT’s D-Lab is an introduction to design for manufacturability and choosing manufacturers in the context of products in BoP markets. The course is intended for start-up or product development teams who have a working prototype of a BoP product that is ready to be designed for manufacturability and put into production. Students or professionals who are generally interested in the topic are also welcome. Applications close June 1st, 2016.
