SPER-EH/MANTYS Electrochemical hydrogenation is a process that takes place at room temperature without the use of catalysts and conversion to fat is controlled to have it with low contents of Trans fatty acids. This project is aimed at companies in the food, pastry and possibly other sector of lubricants, since it is possible to control the degree of hydrogenation and to produce emulsions, although more research is required in this type of mineral oils. We are currently participating in the Generation 7 Entrepreneurs Leaders (LIF7) programme of the Economy Secretariat and the Royal Academy of Engineering in London supported by the University of Oxford.
