Why Gender Lens investing is important now more than ever

SIGNAL, On Investment in East Africa

COVID 19 has caused a lot of disruption in the investment environment. The need for working capital by entrepreneurs is key now more than ever. Most investors are focussing on supporting portfolio companies to navigate this time and others are delaying rounds while monitoring the economy. Entrepreneurs are confused about where to access funding and are in need of a space where they can get funding insights, opportunities and also access to investors.

SOGAL x SHONA are hosting a webinar series interviewing early stage investors in East Africa, to learn about funding opportunities for entrepreneurs, funding insights and strategy in supporting portfolio companies through this crisis.

On the first edition, we are hosting, Muthoni Wachira Founding Partner of Africa Venture Partner Network (AVPN) and Jennifer Soltis, Global Head of coLabs to talk about Gender Lens Investing and the effect of COVID-19 on women and women led businesses.
