Food SenseTour West Africa

An innovation tour to support + connect innovative agri-food entrepreneurs

CALL FOR INNOVATIVE AGRI-FOOD ENTREPRENEURS AND PROJECTS IN BURKINA FASO, SENEGAL AND CÔTE D’IVOIRE

MakeSense is launching an innovation tour to discover, connect + support innovative entrepreneurs with solutions for a sustainable and secure food system in West Africa. An innovation tour to discover, connect + support innovative entrepreneurs with solutions for a sustainable and secure food system in West Africa.

One in three people in Sub-Saharan Africa suffers from Hunger, whilst 40% of the food produced is lost or wasted. Climate change and population increase seem to be unsurmountable challenges to ensure food security for the African continent. Food systems around the world are sick – from production over the transformation and distribution to the consumption of produce and food.

HOWEVER, SOLUTIONS TO THESE CHALLENGES EXIST, ALL THEY NEED IS SUPPORT AND VISIBILITY.

The mission of this tour is thus to identify social entrepreneurs, to mobilise support-communities around them, to give them visibility and to kick-start a West African movement for food security innovation!
