The Oxford Africa Society is organizing the 9th annual Oxford Africa Conference on May 17th – May 18th at Oxford University. The conference itself, is the largest student-run conference on Africa in Europe, and aims to bring together scholars, students, practitioners and policy makers working in or on Africa across a wide range of sectors. The conference serves as the society’s annual call to action: the opportunity for coalescing ideas and initiatives that can augment and create opportunities for African individuals, companies and organisations.

This years’ conference will convene around the theme: Asserting Africa’s Relevance: Locally, Continentally and Globally. Through interactive panels, Keynote speeches and a BBC moderated debate, this theme will explore pathways to asserting Africa’s relevance by: leveraging indigenous assets, critically reflecting on regional integration, and engaging with global priorities.
