Volpe Capital

A new approach to Latin American technology investment

We see a changing landscape in Latin America driven by technology. Power will change hands and a new breed of winners will emerge. Our goal is to work tirelessly to invest in those winners and become long term partners in their journeys.

Volpe Capital seeks to obtain long term capital appreciation by investing in tech and tech enabled high growth opportunities in Latin America.

Latin America is home to over 650m people with high adoption of consumer technologies. Brazilians and Mexicans spend a daily average of 9:20 hours and 8:20 hours online respectively vs. Americans at 6:30. Moreover, Brazil and Mexico are top markets for leading global technology companies such as Uber, Netflix, Facebook, Wix, Waze, Google among others. Despite the high online penetration, Latin America lags other markets in key aspects of the digital economy. The low productivity of many markets makes the region prone for disruption by a selected group of tech leaders that will emerge. We plan on taking advantage of the relatively young venture and growth market in the region to capitalize on those opportunities.

Our portfolio construction philosophy is focused on fewer investments and working closer to the entrepreneurs that chose to partner with us. We will also look for opportunities to invest in Latin American entrepreneurs that are going global.

Our strategy is based on 3 key pillars:

  • We are partners to our LPs, we are relevant investors in our funds and believers in sharing risks and upsides.
  • Having the best investment team across all levels.
  • Be thorough in our analysis. Our goal is to understand the opportunities where we have decided to invest better than anyone else.
