Wamala Energy Company is a Ugandan start-up company providing solar-powered milk bulk cooling systems for dairy farmers in rural off-grid areas in Uganda.
Dairy farmers living in rural off-grid areas find difficulty in preserving their milk hence experience post-harvest losses when the milk gets spoilt, this significantly lowers their revenues. These dairy farmers sometimes use diesel generators which produce a lot of carbon emissions, are un-clean and expensive.
Our environmentally clean systems provide dairy farmers’ groups (cooperatives) with a reliable and affordable cooling solution from the time of milking until when the milk is sold.
We provide “cooling as a service”, thereby taking away the burden of high initial cost of investment and the risk of operation. Our business model enables us to generate constant revenues.
We are currently interested to raise funds for our current operations and build more systems and change the lives of dairy farmers in Uganda.
