At Transfer for change Ltd,
– we link smaller holder farmers to the ventures that export horticultural crops which gives them good prices and reliable markets as they do contractual farming.
– This attracts many players mostly the youth in the farming sector who do it in modern ways professionally because after organizing these smaller holder farmers into cluster farms we give them trainings on the basics of organic farming (where the inputs are locally available hence small capital), and the basics of the conditions to grow crops for the export market.
– We also manage the post harvest loss, by drying the chili on the farmers’ behalf, on our drying facility at our Demo farm which acts as the collection center for all the harvests from different farms of the smallholder farmers.
And lastly we train them on making organic pesticides from the local materials available, hence spending less.
