Practically every family is affected by sickle cell in Africa. Education about sickle cell is important to the African psyche due to historical family experience with sickle cell. By spurring youths to the imperative of genotype in marriage and reproduction, we are helping reduce the hydraheaded financial, emotional and physical burden of SCD on individuals, Family and society.
