SAFE Majuli Green Cooperative, is a member of the Cross-Country Community Climate Consortium (Penta-C) of South Asian Forum for Environment [SAFE], which is a regional nonprofit CSO working in South Asia. In August 2018, SAFE and Majuli Green Cooperative comprising of nearly 150 marginal young and progressive farmers of Majuli, scaled up the integrated float-farming intervention in Majuli river island of Assam and as well replicated in villages of Sundarbans in India and villages of Bihar in Indo-Nepal borders. The Cooperative aspires to develop a primary producer’s network across agro-ecological zones in South Asia using innovative and climate resilient agricultural technology, so as to enable local economic resilience and preparedness for better recovery. The cooperative promotes regenerative agriculture in slim-soil, solar irrigation and water budgeting for crop calendaring, real-time contingency planning for marginal farmers and as well innovative water resource management.
