Olosida is a renewable energy, irrigation and agriculture service provider that supports Africa’s smallholder farmers to build resilient communities in Kenya drylands.
It uses renewable energy that is solar power to enable pivot irrigation systems and agriculture technology on rural farms. We manufacture small scale pivot irrigation systems from 1acre to 50acres that are solar powered in both drive gears and water pumping, allowing direct fertilization, crop spraying and monitoring. This equipment are leased to farmers.
We farm horticulture, grains maize and beans and animal feeds in our farms and in partnership with contracted farmers in Narok, Kajiado and Lakipia counties, by providing pivot irrigation equipment and education to farmers.
Olosida was stated in 2021 by co-founder Emmanuel lekishon and Margaret Tumpes to solve food security in drylands by addressing barriers to irrigation and energy access.
