Ole Blu is a solar-powered company that processes red seaweed into biofertilizers for agricultural crops in the south of Kenya but scalable to other regions. We empower local cooperatives by enabling them to add value to their seaweed, focusing on Eucheuma denticulatum and Kappaphycus alvarezzi as sustainable alternatives to harmful chemical fertilizers.

Unlike competitors such as Sea6 Energy, Cargill’s Red Seaweed Promise, Acadian Seaplants, and Kelp Blue, Ole Blu priorities localised support, capacity building, and regenerative farming practices. We collaborate directly with farmers, ensuring technology transfer and higher margins for their products.

As a solar-powered operation, we minimize our carbon footprint while embracing circular economy principles. This approach sets us apart by fostering sustainable livelihoods and promoting environmentally conscious agriculture tailored to the Kibuyuni community.
