The Mobovet cluster farming initiative will be leveraging a novel strategy for financing agriculture in rural, underserved, and conflict-impacted (communal and farmer-herder clashes) communities in Benue state Nigeria. It will leverage backward and forward integration to address the shortfall in soya bean and maize production, which are key ingredients needed in feed formulation for livestock production. Our initiative also provides social security via insurance packages structured for the informal sector in order to provide them with a social security cover in order to make a claim when the opportunity arises.
Overall, the Mobovet cluster farming initiative will provide finance, inputs, field extension services, social security, and market support to feed industries and livestock farms to bring down the cost of livestock feed for local farmers.
Women and youths will benefit from 50% of the gross revenue generated from sales minus the cost of sales after harvest.
