Lima Technologies Growing markets and entrepreneurial capacity for farmers through data

Smallholder farmers in their effort to access markets are confronted with certain constraints. These include: market information and market access, poor infrastructure, low financial inclusion and poor access to technology. Due to poor market linkages, farmers are always forced to take bad prices buyers always offer especially for value chain crops we have chosen to focus on whenever there is an oversupply in the market. These prices can be as low as half of the minimum recommended price by the Ministry of Agriculture. This unsettles the income earning abilities of the farmers of these crops. We’re linking farmers with markets through observing, collecting and monitoring farm level data on chosen value chain crops.
