Kalabash Changing the general dependence on plastics for cosmetic packaging.

Over the past years, demand for plastic has substantially increased in Sub-Saharan Africa.
This is further exacerbated by high rates of waste mismanagement. Our solution to this problem is Kalabash. A cosmetic powder brand that utilizes the calabash plant for its product packaging. The product is made up of a reusable cosmetic powder case made out of the calabash materials. we also provide refils in paper packaging. Our target population is the 50% Sub-saharan population who are females and are the primary users of beauty products or cosmetics. we run a direct sales B2C business model and charge $20 for our reusable cosmetic powder case and $8 for refills. We have currently developed a prototype product and a CAD model with mockups. Given a grant of $5000 we can improve our prototype and branding, register our business and begin our market research. with your help and our product i am certain we can eliminate the general dependence on plastics as packaging solutions.
