Junub Kids LTD We develop and sell kindergarten books for children aged 3 to 5

South Sudan has been in war for decades and with over 2 million out-of-school children with no access to education (South Sudan Education Cluster, 2024). The majority of these children are between the ages of 3 and 5 years old, as this category makes up 20% of the population (SSNBS, 2023). Many of them are not attending school, and those who do attend (1.1 million children) face a severe shortage of children’s books for pre-primary education (UNESCO, 2016). The South Sudan Ministry of General Education and Instruction (MoGEI) developed and printed textbooks for both primary and secondary education, with the exception of the pre-primary level. Amidst all these challenges and in the quest to combat the high illiteracy rate in the country, Junub Kids LTD developed children’s books for early childhood education to bridge the gap. The books were reviewed and approved by the Department of the National Curriculum Development Centre (NCDC) at the Ministry of Education.
