QUINOA IS BECOMING A COMMODITY
Farmers passed from selling their product from S/. 10 to S/. 4.50 x Kg and little by little they will lose interest in continuing with the cultivation of quinoa.
HOW CAN WE HELP IN THIS SOCIAL PROBLEM AND AT THE SAME TIME MAKE MONEY?
Along the Quinoa Production Chain, it is wasted
between 10 to 12% of Raw Material – approx. 6,000 MT per year
How to achive this:
a- Using 5% of Waste, extracting Saponin (Actual Project with UCSM – Funds $ 150k) -> End date april 2024
b- Adding Value to the Grain, 7% of Waste, Taking advantage from properties of protein and starch/oil. Project PROTALQUIN $250K -> Looking for financing.
Potential Market (Perú)
6,000 Tons of Waste with an actual value of US$ 150 x MT can be converted into High Value Products with a potential value of $4,500 x TM. This points to US$ 27’000,000.
