« Golden Silk Pheach » aims at bringing back to life the long lost art of Angkorian silks by raising and preserving an endemic specie of silk worms (bombyx mori polyvoltin), which has nearly disappeared as it cannot be mechanized.
All our pieces of art are made by hand. They are intemporal thanks to the care and thoughts provided by a team of hundred of persons.
Based on a thorough research, we reproduce intricate angkorian patterns, which were once frozen on the stones of the temples.
In harmony with today eco norms, we only use natural pigments for the dyeing process in order to guarantee and preserve all the shine of our royal fibre.
We only use electricity from solar panels and produce our bio-gaz for our dyeing process.
Of course, we do not use any insectide (which will kill our silk-worms).
We only use natural fertilizers.
But foremost we provide work and dignity to a rural communauty made of a majority of women.
