Horticultural farmers, including myself, in Kisumu County loose a lot of income because of the high perishability of their farm products. They also face the pressure of having to sell quickly and are therefore get low prices for their products. I have started adding value on my farm products by drying and packaging them for sale to enable me reduce the losses due to spoilage at the farm and to reduce the pressure of having to sell fast. I have therefore been able to negotiate for higher prices and therefore increase my income. I wish to expand my operation so that I can buy from other farmers in Kisumu County too so that I help their problem too.
