Driven by a commitment to forest conservation, Forested partners with smallholder farmers residing along Ethiopia’s forest biosphere reserves to equitably source, process, and export honey and beeswax to international markets. These markets not only prioritize traceability but also seek to contribute to global sustainable development goals. Through close collaboration and active participation of smallholders—also known as participatory forest management groups—Forested is in the midst of developing innovative technology to measure its impact beyond improved livelihoods, focusing on forest preservation and biodiversity conservation.
