Farmz2U is enabling food sustainability by increasing local agricultural production in Sub Saharan Africa. With 25% of the global population predicted to be in Africa by 2050, continued reliance on food importation is unsustainable particularly given the challenges in advanced agricultural economies and food export bans due to COVID-19.
We solve smallholder farmers’ challenges like post-harvest waste, sub-optimal output yields, weather variability, and pest or disease outbreaks. Furthermore, our solution addresses the lack of gender equality in resource access among farmers.
Our solution is a web-based platform (app.farmz2u.com) that helps farmers farm better with tailored agricultural expertise using data and access to market via APIs. Data like soil composition feeds into the platform and improves farmers’ decisions. For instance, instructing a farmer to apply 5-10 lbs. of sulfur to restore soil alkalinity. Similarly, APIs connect farmers with services like capital.
