The animal health system in Africa leaves little to be desired and goes a long way to affect farmers who are the lifeline of our local food system. Quality drugs, vaccines and biosecurity products are not easily accessible and if they do, they are very expensive driving the average cost of production to an unimaginable height.
At Farmalert, we are building the first and largest chain of animal health retail outlets and service centres across Nigeria through our brand VETPRO, to ensure that farmers can easily access animal health care products and services on time and at an affordable rate.
Our big idea is to ensure the training of these farmers and also make animal health products accessible and affordable to those who truly need them.
So far, we have three retail outlets with an annual revenue of nearly $500,000 and we are on our way to building a network of 100 more in 3 years with an annual revenue of $30 million.
