This initiative is the result of an experience of twenty (20) years of community development (inclusion and reintegration of vulnerable and disadvantaged layers, food security, community health, women’s empowerment, inter alia), including sixteen (16) years of advocacy on extractive industries in Senegal and in the world. Thus, after Senegal’s accession to the EITI (with its rank of 1 in Africa and 4th in the world), the revision of the mining code and the other laws that have followed, including that relating to local content, traditional mines are still struggling to enrich the By way of easily transposable and/or duplicable alternatives, the green mines are proposed through a social and solidary agricultural enterprise. As with the traditional mines (gold, iron, marble, zircon …), the green mines that can be developed everywhere allow production and industrialization that also remain the two poles of development.
