Edu Call Uganda Empowering small-scale female farmers through Agriculture

Edu Call Uganda is a social venture empowering rural female smallholder farmers through a sustainable seed loan model that improves food security, incomes, and resilience to climate change. We provide 10 kg of quality maize seed plus fertiliser, training in climate-smart agriculture, and market access at the start of the season. Farmers repay in-kind with 100 kg of maize after harvest, keeping the rest to feed their families or sell. Our unique model eliminates upfront costs, reduces financial risk, and supports long-term self-reliance. We also offer mobile-based advisory services, weather alerts, and market information through a low-cost annual subscription. With a 99% loan repayment rate in our pilot, we’re ready to scale to reach 10,000+ women across Uganda. By blending profit with purpose, Edu Call Uganda is transforming agriculture from subsistence to sustainability for the women who feed our nation.
