By integrating risk assessment, it directly connects farmers to banks and insurance companies, facilitating access to credit and agricultural insurance for sustainable finance in Burundi. Farmers benefit from financial inclusion (simplified loans and microinsurance) to protect their crops against climate risks. For insurance companies: Accurate loss assessment is possible thanks to satellite data and IoT sensors. This enables the provision of profitable and transparent index-based or multi-risk insurance, a rapidly growing sector supported by the Burundian government and the World Bank.
