Project: Integrating solar energy for sustainable agriculture (ISOLA)
Mozambique is a country with an abundance of sunshine. It has great energy potential as it is a windy country with the sun shining all year round, and its arable land is very productive. This project aims to integrate the use of solar energy to power motor pumps connected to ecological irrigation systems, which will make it possible to increase horticultural production at 2 administrative posts in the District of Mogovolas, Nampula Province in Mozambique, to increase the income of women horticulturalists and young people working in the gardens. The project includes the creation of new local jobs. At Crimas, our innovation is focused on developing and effectively contributing to sustainable socio-economic exchange processes (agriculture, environment, forestry, and agribusiness) that promote the autonomy of rural communities in the decision-making process.
