It all started with a scene at a transport company in Calavi: a man wanted to send a parcel to Malanville and asked the carrier if he could collect the money from the recipient, after verification. The answer was no. That day, I understood: the real obstacle to e-commerce in Benin is the absence of a trusted third party. And so ColisOk was born, a logistics startup that secures online purchases with a physical verification service for parcels before payment. Our solution, based on a web and mobile platform, connects the buyer, the seller and an independent verification agent. The buyer initiates a request, and ColisOk assigns an available agent to check the parcel before delivery. We target 570,000 online buyers in Benin, who are often exposed to scams. With ColisOk, e-commerce becomes safer, more local and more trustworthy.
