ChipChip uses an innovative “group buying” model to provide affordable, quality food to urban families while empowering those who produce it. The model aggregates demand by incentivizing people to join friends, family, or neighbors and purchase products together. As farmers get bulk orders and sell more at once, consumers access wholesale-like prices at least 20% lower than market ones. To facilitate, ChipChip developed 3 apps that, together, cover the end-to-end logistics: farmers list their products and prices on the vendor app, customers browse and order through the user app, and the driver app matches drivers with the best delivery routes. Items are stored, checked for quality, and aim to reach customers in 24 hours, with free shipping under group orders. This cuts logistics costs by delivering to one location per group instead of multiple addresses. Group buying creates viral promotion as users invite others for group discounts, organically expanding our reach and impact.SectorsAgritech, E-commerce, LogisticsLocationAddis Ababa, EthiopiaStageSign in to view detailsMarketsSign in to view detailsCustomer modelSign in to view detailsSupported byGoGettazContactSign in to view detailsSocial media Articles 18 agritechs selected for the 2025 SAIS Investment Readiness ProgrammeTransforming African agriculture with innovative digital solutions and sustainable practices for a resilient food system… read more Announcing the 12 Finalists for the 2024 GoGettaz Agripreneur Prize CompetitionAfrican agribusiness innovators showcase sustainable solutions and climate-resilient businesses… read more
