This project aims to produce 7000 improved cookstoves to be distributed in 7 Provinces of the Democratic Republic of Congo in order to reduce by 50% the consumption of wood energy, to sequester with the help of 7000 improved cookstoves 12.600 tons of CO2 at a rate of 1,8 tons of CO2 per improved stove to reduce risks related to respiratory and eye diseases by the effects of pollution and inhalation of fine particles. The use of improved cookstoves contributes to the protection of forests, as 87% of households use wood energy for their energy needs and this causes deforestation.
