Food wastage has been a huge challenge especially in developing and rural areas with inaccessibility to large markets and transportation hassles including lack of good processing facilities.

With the use of e-marketing, post harvest loss would be reduced by directly connecting farmers to chains of buyers who will offtake their products immediately after harvesting

Health issues primarily caused by exposure to pathogens due to unhygienic processing methods and poor handling have also been a source of concern.
