Blagichka is the first zero waste restaurant in Bulgaria that hires underprivileged youths and is currently run by a 21 year old girl. Based on the 5 principles of the zero waste philosophy we are showing that a food industry business could be entirely zero waste. We have created a methodology through which we spread the idea about the zero waste philosophy among other restaurants. With the EU ban on disposable plastics and the need to switch to sustainable business models our methodology has a huge potential to be implemented in other similar businesses. Besides this we also train students, companies and NGOs with the aim more and more people in Bulgaria to have the knowledge about the zero waste philosophy.
