aQysta has developed an innovative water-powered water pump for irrigation for smallholder farmers without requiring any fuel or electricity. Branded as the ‘Barsha Pump’, where Barsha means rain in Nepalese, the product has helped more than 10,000 farmers across 25 countries practice irrigated farming during the dry season, without requiring any operating costs and without any pollution to the environment.
To make sure the Barsha pumps reach the poorest farmers, aQysta has initiated the GROWN farm incubator, where farmers receive agricultural training and guaranteed market access in addition to the pump, at no upfront cost, on a revenue-sharing mechanism. We grow farmers!
