Aquaponic for Life (A4L) is building Malawi’s leading climate-smart aquaculture enterprise by solving three urgent problems: declining fish supply, youth unemployment, and weak aquaculture inputs.

Fish is a major source of animal protein in Malawi, but natural fisheries are declining while demand is rising. Aquaculture can close this gap, yet farmers lack quality fingerlings, affordable feed, technical skills, reliable water, and support.

A4L responds through an integrated model: commercial fish production, African catfish fingerlings, aquaponics vegetables, black soldier fly feed ingredients, training, consultancy, research, and technology demonstration.

Our key advantage is catfish breeding. Unlike tilapia, African catfish is hard to breed in Malawi. Many farmers have tried and failed because it requires specialised breeding, induced spawning, incubation, larval nursing, stable water quality, and reliable energy.
