About 20-30% of the product gets wasted at the farm gate level because of poor initial processing e.g. use of manual labor instead of maize sheller. Then it is transported to the village level aggregator who would be having unsustainable ways of storing and handling. The waste gets added there. Thats why between farmer and the processors/manufacturers price of the product increases by atleast 30%. We are working from right at the farm level to provide the farmers with efficient ways of harvest, process and providing them with sustainable inputs such as organic manure, organic seeds at cost, at cash or in kind.
The quality inputs and the village level procurement also ensures the customers for their longer term sustainability.
