Every quarter, VC4A team selects a maximum of 10 fundraising companies for our Quarterly DealRooms. Selected companies are presented directly to the Fund Managers and Angels from 210 vetted investor organizations part of the closed VC4A Investor Network (see the logos of all participating funds below). VC4A sets up virtual deep-dive sessions and due diligence with interested investors to make that next round happen!
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA Your company is for-profit and registered as an independent legal entity; You have a product or service available on the market and generate revenue; Your product or service is clearly innovative and/or your business model is new, disruptive and designed for scale; You have a very strong management team of at least 2 people; Your team is based in one or more countries on the African continent; You are seeking Seed or Series A investment in the range of $150K – $5M*; While there will be exceptions, most likely your startup has already received external investment, structured as either debt or equity, or received grants from donor organizations.
PROCESS AND TIMELINE Register your venture and start a fundraising campaign on vc4a.com. Submit your application for our inaugural DealRoom scheduled for the period of May 17-28 no later than April 20th, 2021. VC4A team will review the applications and conduct a number of virtual interviews with pre-selected companies to better understand your fundraising needs. We will inform you whether your company has been selected for the DealRoom by April 29th, 2021. Selected companies will be asked to validate information for the deal book and provide additional documentation (e.g. letter of incorporation, financial statements) for virtual due diligence. Yes, we anticipate your question ‘Who’s going to see these documents?’ and we will share a full list of participating investors with selected companies at this point. A virtual deal book will be circulated in the week of May 10th and interested investors will get access to due diligence documentation. In the following two weeks, VC4A will facilitate virtual deep dives with investors based on their interests.
