VC4A sets the stage for the next generation of innovative startups at AESIS2024 – 14 days to go

With only two weeks until the 11th annual Africa Early-Stage Investor Summit (#AESIS2024), VC4A is set to co-host the continent’s most anticipated event for early-stage investors alongside ABAN. Themed “Pioneering Pathways: Innovating Investment Mobilization in Africa”, it is set to take place in Cape Town on November 28-29, 2024.

AESIS delivers a comprehensive program designed by investors, specifically for investors seeking to enhance their investment strategies in Africa. The two-day summit features expert-led masterclasses, peer-to-peer learning sessions, and specialized training modules. The gathering brings together leading fund managers, angel investors, and investment professionals for intensive knowledge-sharing through panels, roundtable discussions, and networking opportunities. Key topics include innovative financing mechanisms, gender-lens investing, and engaging the African diaspora to drive inclusive and scalable growth across the continent.

Meet Africa’s most investment-ready startups at AESIS2024

One of the key pillars of VC4A’s involvement in AESIS2024 is the award-winning VC4A Venture Showcase. Each year, handpicked high-growth, high-potential startups seeking Seed to Series A funding present their solutions to investors at AESIS. This exclusive opportunity offers investors direct access to top-tier companies that are positioned to drive growth and innovation across key sectors in Africa and beyond.

We’re dedicated to creating a robust pipeline of high-growth companies, and AESIS2024 gives us a unique platform to create linkages between investors and startups, said Vincent Hoogduijn – CEO, VC4A.

The Venture Showcase format is integrated within the SheWins Africa and develoPPP Ventures programs, both of which are multinational initiatives supporting African founders. As part of this effort, selected entrepreneurs will present their innovative solutions during AESIS2024, providing them a platform to showcase their work as an integral element of these programs.

  • The SheWins Africa 2024 program, an initiative by the International Finance Corporation (IFC), and implemented by VC4A is empowering female founders by providing tailored support and access to investment opportunities.
  • The develoPPP Ventures programme, implemented by DEG Impulse and GIZ and funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), will bring handpicked founders from across Africa to engage in curated activities during AESIS2024 and Africa Investor Week.

Through these strategic collaborations, VC4A commits to promoting inclusive growth, empowering women-led ventures and supporting founders tackling social and economic challenges in society. Founders from both programs will participate in curated activities designed to deepen their engagement with investors and further strengthen their networks.
