• Stage: pre-seed, seed, pre-series A
• Traction: ±6 months of consistent growth
• Sector: all sectors with asset light business models
• Core market: any emerging or frontier market (excluding China)

Venture capital works best when you can pair technology to a massive market inefficiency or unmet demand. The emerging markets represent 85% of the world’s population, have an average internet penetration of 65%, higher than both, the global average of 56.5% and the rest of the world 57%. Yet these markets lack coverage to many fundamental needs such as financial services, healthcare, education or energy.

Despite this massive market opportunity, these countries pull in just 5.4% of global venture capital dollars (as of FY’20). We want to change that.
