Bolivia is the cradle of the IFD Pro Women’s Foundation. Starting in the city of El Alto in 1990, the IFD Pro Women Foundation provided free food for women with scarce resources, focusing on education, health, family planning and child development for their families.
The program expanded its mission when those women insisted that their priority was to have an income to support their children. Currently, the IFD Pro Women Foundation has national coverage in Bolivia and works with thousands of women in each of the country’s nine regions. Today, the IFD Pro Women’s Foundation model is a source of inspiration for more than 5 institutions in Latin America.
