AAIS 2016 gathers investors from across the continent to have serious and much needed conversations about the future of early- stage  investing in Africa. Come to AAIS 2016 if you want to be part of affecting improvements in the Angel investment space in Africa and set the roadmap for the future. Expect honest conversations confronting real challenges.

“Growing Africa’s Angel investing community is a critical component to scaling up the number of African start-ups successfully becoming global businesses. AAIS 2016 is a crucial gathering for experienced and new investors to hold prescient conversations, sharpen their investing skills, and build the relationships needed for successful co-investment.”

– Tomi Davies, President of the African Business Angel Network (ABAN)

Taking place on Thursday November 17th at the Landmark Centre in Lagos, Nigeria, AAIS 2016 brings together investors from across the African continent and other parts of the world to exchange best practices, debate pressing issues, share lessons learnt and set the road map for angel investing in the future.

The Summit will provide an unprecedented forum to network with pre-eminent opinion leaders in the African early stage investment space. It is a unique opportunity to solve African Angel investing challenges and access the latest investment methods – from sourcing deals and valuations through to exits.

Co-investing and co-operating – Making it work together

The theme for AAIS 2016 is pertinent to the times, ‘co-investing, making it work together’. With Nigeria officially in a recession and most major African economies suffering from low commodity prices, working together is seen as one of the only ways to unlock capital and maximise Africa’s entrepreneurial potential.

The 2016 Summit will be centred around how different players in the ecosystem can and should co-operate – Angels, VC’s, Government, diaspora, academia, crowd-funders, professional services, corporates, incubators, accelerators and others.

Lagos is the place to be – November 16th-20th

AAIS 2016 is excited to support the following partner events:

LAN Deal Day (16 Nov.): On Wednesday 16th November, the day before the Summit, LAN will be holding its 3rd Deal Day. This is a closed-door evening event for members of the Lagos Angel Network.
