How to Make Your GoGettaz Competition Application Stand Out

Applications for the 2023 GoGettaz Agripreneur Prize Competition are now open! Generation Africa, in partnership with VC4A, will host an informational webinar to share insights about the GoGettaz Agripreneur Prize Competition and tips on how to make applications stand out. One of the past judges/trainer will be present to share this insights and inaugural winners of the GoGettaz Agripreneur Prize Competition– BoNolo Monthe, Founder, Maungo Craft, Botswana, and Isaac Sesi, Founder Sesi Technologies, Ghana– will be present to share details of how their innovations are transforming the food systems and experiences in the GoGettaz Agripreneur Prize Competition.

Specifically, the webinar will aim to:

1. Share insights about the GoGettaz Agripreneur Prize Competition.
2. Share tips on how agripreneurs can make their application stand out, and the criteria used by the judges to vet different agri-enterprises.
3. Provide a platform for previous GoGettaz winners to showcase their innovations and share experiences from the  Competition.

Generation Africa is a pan-African youth initiative founded in 2019 to support young agripreneurs transforming Africa’s food system in scaling their enterprises. One of its key interventions is the annual GoGettaz Agripreneur Prize competition. This awards $ 50,000 each to two top agripreneurs (1 male and 1 female) who emerge successful after a vigorous selection process and pitch of their agribusinesses to an expert panel of judges. The competition attracts more than 1,000 applications from young agripreneurs across Africa.

Since inception  of the Competition, 8 agripreneurs  from different African countries have received the grand prize award. They have also benefited from a pool of opportunities, including mentorship, linkages with key stakeholders, scholarships, and the Generation Africa Fellowship Program. Four additional agripreneurs stand a chance to win $ 2,500 each for the most innovative solutions contributing to environmental conservation and community empowerment.
