Problematic: Support for Hybrid Solutions in the Southern Hemisphere

The lives of millions in underserved communities are threatened by lack of access to water (clean). As a global player in agriculture and health, Bayer wants to address this problem, help communities thrive and defend water as a human right Get in the Ring and Bayer invite emerging companies with promising water solutions to participate in Bayer’s Social Innovation Award to raise awareness of the multiple solutions to these important challenges.

How will it be achieved? Giving a platform to social innovators

Through a global campaign in the Latin American, African and Middle East and Asia Pacific regions, the best social innovators in each region will be selected by experts from Bayer and Get in the Ring will be a prominent place to show their solution. In three regional public voting campaigns on the Get in the Ring platform, the most recognized solutions will directly gain a place in the finalist group.

Requirements

• Your startup brings a solution, technology or water product
• Your startup has a strong focus on creating a social impact in low-and middle-income countries in the Global South (Latin America, Africa, Middle East, Asia Pacific)
• Your startup is between the pilot and revenue stages

Water Domain Approach

With the Bayer Social Innovation Award, we look for water solutions in the health and agriculture domains, which impact on the UN Sustainable Development Goals 6.

Scale of impactful business beyond the known  

Being part of the Bayer Social Innovation Award will give you access to the network Bayer’s global agriculture and health, will become part of the Get in the Ring startup ecosystem and give you the chance to win one of the four awards of 35,000 €.

The most promising startups in each region will get a ticket to the awards ceremony in Europe. They will be presented with the international impact ecosystem to make valuable connections to scale solutions.
