The GE Africa Innovation Centre (GE AIC)has, since its launch in June 2016, been a home for South African Industrial Innovation – with a global edge!  Providing a welcoming vibrant environment, including, the best of local design, the award-winning glass-encased building is a perfect home for collaboration and innovation. 

Using the best innovation, practices, and methodologies, many emerging from the century-old invention organisation, the GE AIC team provides training, workshops, innovation programmes, and immersions  for local partners. Ideation, co-creation, work and learning spaces for 2 to 120 people are scattered throughout the building.

The GE Africa Innovation Centre is home to the Innovation, GE Digital, Learning and Development and SSA Healthcare teams.  And many visitors.

However its key objective is to enhance local innovation : The GE AIC was developed in order to catalyse and unlock opportunities for Africa’s accelerated growth and sustainable development. To that end, we host global and local delegates – from academic to professional and catalyse realistic and sustainable solutions to challenges in our work, social, political and physical environments.

We’ve hosted a range of workshops, events and courses, including a six-month Healthcare Accelerator with Standard Bank, hundreds of Workshops for various professionals, government employees and students – primary through to the most prestigious global tertiary institutions.
