The ACP-EU Technical Centre for Agricultural and Rural Cooperation (CTA), in collaboration with the African Agribusiness Incubators Network (AAIN), EIC Corporation (Côte d’ Ivoire), Agribusiness TV, and the incubation spaces for innovations such as Jokkolabs (Côte d’ Ivoire/Afrique), Suguba (West Africa), Wennovation Hub (Nigeria), Etrilabs (Benin), CIPMEN (Niger), CTIC Dakar (Senegal) EcoHub (Togo), Woelab (Togo), launches Pitch AgriHack West Africa 2017. This regional edition follows the successful organization of the first international edition of Pitch AgriHack 2016.
Pitch AgriHack is a component of the CTA’s AgriHack Talent program. This new edition is regional and covers West Africa.
It includes:
- competition for technology-based start-ups (start-ups) targeting the agricultural sector;
- an intensive training workshop on entrepreneurship in the e-agriculture sector (ICT for agriculture)
- access to grants, mentoring (incubation/acceleration) and the opportunity to benefit from investments in the development of commercial services offered.
The ultimate goal is to help develop the business services offered by young e-farm start-ups and accelerate the adoption of innovations to improve the productivity of the agri-food sector.
This edition is open only to young technology start-ups in West African countries, whose founders (at least one) are at least 35 years old. They must have functional prototypes or applications/ICT platforms already in use.
Winning shoots will benefit from an ATC grant that can range from up to 15 000 euros, apart from other possibilities offered by the partners involved.
