I have been, for 15+ years, managing numerous initiatives related to ICT policy and use for socio-economic development in various countries.
I joined the Technical Center for Agricultural and Rural Cooperation ACP-EU (CTA) in 2009, where I currently oversee funding and coordinate initiatives related to the use of ICT in agricultural value chains, in African, Caribbean and Pacific countries. Examples include: support to ICT innovations and entrepreneurship in agriculture, organisation of social media training for agricultural stakeholders, support to the development of mobile and ICT applications in agriculture, e-agriculture strategies. Two initiatives I managed at CTA won international awards.
Based in the Netherlands, CTA is a joint international institution of the African, Caribbean and Pacific Group of States & the European Union (EU), and has been supporting agricultural and rural development for more than 35 years.
ICT for Agriculture Program Coordinator
CTA (Technical Centre for Agriculture and Rural Cooperation ACP EU)
I manage various entrepreneurship support activities – focusing on young innovators & entrepreneurs (around 35 years max) in the areas of agriculture and ICT. This includes:
1) Support to general agriculture entrepreneurship (see http://www.cta.int/fr/article/2016-02-18/developpement-agricole-durable-aider-les-jeunes-a-entreprendre.html
2) AgriHack Talent: The program focuses on ICT4Ag entrepreneurship. It aims to support youth ICT innovation & entrepreneurship in agriculture. It includes competitions to develop, via hackathons or other coding sessions, ICT applications for agriculture, as well as capacity building, incubation for best participants. Promotion & support to existing ICT4Ag start-ups is also done via the Pitch AgriHack activity. Other promotional and networking opportunities are also offered to the most promising participants (documentation, support for piloting or scaling up..) who can also be involved in other activities (conferences, Plug and Play, Apps4Ag…)
