Coopen Call for Innovators- Food and Sustainable Agriculture

Creating impactful solutions between Italy & Africa

COOPEN is looking for innovative solutions to improve agricultural productivity, increase biodiversity and mitigate the consequences of climate change.

The Call for Innovators – Sustainable Food and Agriculture is addressed to a broad sector of innovation, including innovators active both in Italy and Africa (teams of innovators, entrepreneurs, research bodies and university departments, not yet formally established, and/or start-ups and SMEs already formally established).

The innovators are invited to respond to the challenges identified by a group of Italian Civil Society Organisations (“CSOs”) involved in the previous phases of Coopen: training and sharing of experiences, agricultural productivity, data collection and organisation, entrepreneurial mindset, crop biodiversity, traceability and quality, economic sustainability models.

By the end of July 2021, up to a maximum of 9 Innovators will be selected. Each selected Innovator will become part of a project in partnership with the CSO(s) proposing the challenge to which the Innovators responds. The project will aim at implementing the solution by adapting it to the challenge proposed by the CSO(s). For each project launched, the Foundations will provide a maximum contribution of EUR 90,000.

To participate in the Call for Innovators – Food and Sustainable Agriculture, it is necessary to submit an application no later than 28 May 2021 by completing the application form.
