This spring, LaStartupStation, one of the leading startup accelerators in Morocco, took the initiative to support 12 women-led startups through the 7th edition of their flagship program Scalerator, in partnership with the FMO’s Venture Program, Creact4Med, and VC4A.
This year the program is focused on female-led startups, that operate in the field of cultural and creative industries (CCI) and/or who work on technological solutions that focus on fintech, agritech, access to energy, or any other solutions aimed at improving access to goods and services to underserved segments of the population.
A very rich program in learning and advice thanks to its coaching sessions, mentoring, and master class but also thanks to the professionalism and responsiveness of the Startup Station team that is constantly looking to respond to the requests of different startups.

How the program unfolds
The Scalerator program received 110+ applications, after the pre-screening 20 applications were shortlisted from which only 12 startups got selected.
After a competitive selection process in April, with several interview rounds, a 3-day selection Bootcamp was organized by La Startup Station for the 20 shortlisted startups. The Bootcamp was a great opportunity for La Startup Station to get to know the startups better and inform the final selection but also offered an intense learning experience for the 20 startups as well, culminating in a final pitching session at the end of the 3 days, in front of a finance committee. The bootcamp involved different trainers and experts on topics such as soft skills, design thinking, and software development.
The Scalerator #7 program at StartupStation was a great opportunity for us to exchange with different actors of the Moroccan start-up ecosystem and to develop our ideas into a real business project. Through the mentoring, coaching and MasterClass programs we were able to confront our ideas and be challenged by quality speakers for a continuous improvement of our value proposition. We particularly appreciate the availability and attentiveness of the support team, which does everything possible to meet our needs.

A final cohort of 12 startups was selected to enter an intense period of 12 support sprints, one sprint every two weeks. Each sprint is centered around a particular topic and includes a training session, an inspirational conversation or dinner with a public figure, individual coaching with an advisor who will follow the progress of the startups during the 6 months of the program, and finally mentoring with experienced business professionals from the Moroccan ecosystem, such as Ali Bensouda, Hicham Sentissi, and Khadija Aamou
Throughout the period of sprints, LaStartupStation is providing introductions for the startups to relevant market players and potential investors, such as BMCE Capital, INWI, and Attijari Wafa Bank. Finally, the program will culminate in a demo day, to be held in October, in front of an audience of 100+ relevant stakeholders, investors, corporate partners, and ecosystem support partners.
