Do you have what it takes to join our 2016 Investor Summit as a speaker?

This November 17, the African Business Angel Network (ABAN), Lagos Angels Network (LAN) and VC4Africa jointly present the 3rd annual African Angel Investor Summit in Lagos, Nigeria also welcoming special guests She Leads Africa and Ingressive’s Tour of Tech.

Co-investing: making it work together

Theme for this years Summit is ‘Co-investing, making it work together’. With Nigeria now officially in a recession and most major economies suffering from low commodity prices, working together is the only way forward to unlock capital fast and maximise Africa’s entrepreneurial potential. All presentations, keynotes and workshops during the 2016 summit will be centred on how different players in the ecosystem – angels, VC’s, government, crowdfunders etc- can co-invest and cooperate -to make it work together.

Following the successful Summits in 2014 and 2015 also this years edition will bring together Africa’s early stage investor community to exchange best practices, share lessons learned and set the road map for the future. Stakeholders from the corporate sector, government, academia and others will again join the conversation on working together to help maximize Africa’s entrepreneurial potential.

Building the Program together!

Working together is also how we want to build the program for the Summit: do you know a thing or two about investing in Africa? Are you interested to speak or join as a panel member? Do you have suggestion for additional workshops? We look forward to hear from you! Have a look at how the program is coming together here and get involved!

Current workshops for example will examine how governments and angel investors can work together looking at what Africa can learn from co-investment funds operating in the UK and Turkey. Another panel will investigate what it takes to make angel syndication in Africa really work; ahat legal structures and what technical infrastructure is required and what financial terms are best suited to create sustainable and scalable models for angel syndication.

Everyone is invited to contribute to the program. Follow how the program is coming together here: http://www.aais2016.com/.
