ABOUT ANZA: 

Anza Entrepreneurs provides business development services that assist to strengthen business operations, increase profitability, scale job creation in Tanzania. In the last 10 years, Anza has provided over 1000 businesses in 12 regions of Tanzania with strategic capacity building, trade linkages, and access to flexible capital to maximise their ability to create jobs and provide access to life-improving products and services. 

Our impact is clear: On average Anza entrepreneurs create 3 new jobs, have revenue growth of $12,000, and reach 12,000 lives all within the first year of programming. We’ve facilitated over $2,000,000 of investment to our entrepreneurs.

We exist as a response to the challenges faced by a significant part of the Tanzanian population, namely: 

• Low access to essential services: a majority of the population faces immense social challenges lacking access to clean water and sanitation, the national energy grid, basic financial services, reliable and affordable healthcare, education, and food. 

  
  

• High Unemployment: every year more than 800,000 Tanzanians enter the job market yet there are only enough jobs for 50,000 of them. A vast majority have informal jobs and are considered “vulnerable”.

  
  

• Underdeveloped innovation ecosystem: Tanzania has experienced low business growth due to an ecosystem that lacks robust, coordinated pillars of capacity building, access to networks, and access to the appropriate and sufficient types of capital. 

WHAT WE OFFER: 

Capacity Building – through our intensive Anza Accelerator programme, we provide entrepreneurs with the necessary skills and knowledge to improve their business operations, grow their market share, and take on their financial management. 

Access to Capital – many businesses are unable to access loans due to the high-interest rates or lack of collateral often required. Anza in collaboration with Anza Growth Fund assists entrepreneurs to access investment capital through direct loans or through the facilitation of investment via our extensive investor network. 

Connect a Community – Anza has curated a community with industry leaders, business advisors, government officials, impact investors, as well as other like-minded entrepreneurs. 

Cultivating Entrepreneurship – Going beyond consultation, Anza takes on an active role in building the entrepreneurial ecosystem.
