Challenge Overview
How can digital technologies help us remotely assess and classify the impact on land, assets, people, and environment?
In this challenge, we aim to help ADB projects progress without compromising on safeguards compliance through alternative ways and approaches, such as geospatial technologies and unmanned aerial vehicles.
Background:
When international staff based in Manila cannot visit the sites due to international travel limitations, conducting due diligence and assessing impacts on the ground are delayed and slow-moving. Delayed or inaccurately assessed impacts may cause the project to become non-compliant with the ADB Safeguards Policy Statement (SPS) requirements.
